SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Oregon closed with by far its best round of the week in Wednesday's final round at the Western Intercollegiate, shooting 2 under as a team to finish the tournament in sixth place at 51 over.

Greyson Leach shot a career-low 3-under 67 to finish tied for seventh at 4 over, while a trio of Ducks shot even par as Oregon was 24 shots better than it was in round two and 33 shots better than the opening round to cap off a week playing in tough conditions at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

How It Happened: After a bogey at 10 to start his day, Leach went 4 under in the next five holes highlighted by an eagle at the par-5 13th to get to 3 under on the day. He bogeyed 17 and 18 to make the turn at 1 under but bounced back with a birdie at the first. Following a double bogey at two, the freshman went bogey-free over the final seven holes while making three birdies to finish 3 under.

Eric Doyle got off to a hot start with two birdies in his first four holes, but doubled the par-4 14th and made three bogeys in his next six holes after that to drop to 3 over. The freshman bounced back down the stretch, making birdies on three of his last six holes to finish with an even-par 70 and tied for 42nd for the tournament.

Owen Avrit also got off to a solid start, following a pair of pars to start his round with back-to-back birdies at 12 and 13 to get to 2 under on the day. However, he would go the next 13 holes without making a birdie while making three bogeys before closing his round with a birdie at the par-5 ninth to finish even par and 24th.

Nate Stember rounded out the group of Ducks who shot even par, carding a 70 to finish the week tied for 17th at 8 over. After a pair of pars to start the day, he made three straight birdies from 12 through 14 to get to 3 under before a bogey and three pars put him at 2 under making the turn. Stember turned in an up-and-down second nine, making a pair of birdies and four bogeys to shoot 2 over on the front and finish at level par.
