BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Part of a local government building is closing for two months.
According to Boardman township administrator Jason Loree, half of the Boardman Township Government Center will close starting February 8. Loree said the administration and zoning side will be closed so that the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system can be replaced. He said the HVAC system is more than 30 years old and in dire need of repair.
“After 30 years the boiler and the air handler definitely has seen their useful life and of course it happens in the middle of winter,” said Loree. “But we are in the midst of trying to get that fixed and hopefully last another 30 years.”
During the project the zoning office will move to the fire station while the fiscal office will temporarily relocate to the police department. Signage will be posted on the door and website with information.. and phone numbers for people to call.
The total project is estimated to cost $500,000.
