A recently renovated beachfront home on Cape Cod, with floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive views of Nantucket Sound, has hit the market for $15.995 million—making it one of the most expensive offerings for sale on the peninsula.
It’s currently the second-most-expensive listing on the Cape, right behind one of its neighbors—a $30 million listing on the same street, listing records show.

The home is in Osterville, a vibrant village in the town of Barnstable, considered an ideal location for living the quintessential Cape Cod life.
Built in the 1970s, the four-bedroom main house was overhauled in 2019.
“It was completely transformed,” said listing agent Ellen Valentgas, of Sotheby’s International Realty – Osterville Brokerage, who brought the home to the market last week. “It was just dramatic.”
Before the renovation, the living room was “floor-to-ceiling wall,” she said. “The furniture wasn’t even facing out.”
Today, it “captures the essence of waterfront living,” according to Valentgas, and exudes modern beach chic. Decorated in shades of white and blue, the light-filled interiors now boast floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted and coffered ceilings, wood floors and shiplap walls.
There’s an open-plan layout too, with plenty of space for relaxing and dining, along with a partially enclosed kitchen with a breakfast area, a family room, a deck and a waterfront balcony.
Outside, a separate two-bedroom cottage, also recently renovated, offers extra space for guests.
But the real highlight of the home might be its show-stopping scenery.
It’s an “unparalleled waterfront setting,” Valentgas said. There are “breathtaking views of the sandy beach. It’s not a bay or a river—it’s truly Nantucket Sound, which is so desirable. I can’t imagine a prettier place.”
If the property sells for its asking price, or anything above $15.1 million, it would rank as the most expensive sale on Cape Cod this year.
The owner, who couldn’t be reached for comment, paid $5.6 million for the home in 2018, records with PropertyShark show.
