TNT: Mavs' Luka Doncic close to 100% for Game 3 - The Dallas Morning News

After battling flu-like symptoms between Game 1 and Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, Luka Doncic was very improved, TNT reported Sunday on its pregame show.

Reporter Allie LaForce, who spoke with the Mavericks star, described him as “pretty close to 100% physically and mentally.”

An ongoing concern is Doncic’s sore right shoulder, that one that’s taped for games. Doncic is undergoing massage while trying to play through the pain, TNT reported.

In an interview, Doncic touched on several other topics:

His smile, especially when bad things happen: “I don’t know why I do it. I think the smile gives me hope … If something bad happens, you have the potential for something good.”

Coach Jason Kidd’s impact on him: “He doing an incredible job, I think not just with me but with everybody this year with how far we made it. He knows what this is about, he was that kind of player. He was the leader and we play the same position. … He helps me a lot.”

The pick-and-roll: “The pick-and-roll is a little like playing chess. You got to predict the next moves. So I always try to read the defense and slow things down because I can’t go fast.”
