The Rundown
Opponent:

Date: May 3
Site: Lake Charles, Louisiana | Joe Miller Ballpark

Probable Pitching Matchups: TBA

Series History:

Last Time Out:
The Pokes have won eight after their last nine conference games after taking two of three at A&M- Corpus Christi over the weekend. The Cowboys scored five in the seventh in game one to win 7-2, and a four-run seventh inning in game two made way for a 7-3 win. The Cowboys produced a season-high 19 hits in game three's 13-11 loss.

Starting pitchers Grant Rogers and Chance Stone each recorded a win over the weekend. Andruw Gonzales a hit cool .615 (8-13) over the series, and Julian Gonzales had a career day in game three with four hits, four RBI, and two home runs.

About McNeese:
Brad Burckel (.361) leads the conference in hitting with Payton Harden (.345 - 4th in SLC), and Braden Duhon (.327 - 7th in SLC) not far behind.

Harden is first in conference with 61 hits, he's posted 23 multi-hit games in 44 starts.

Tied for third-most in the conference, Kade Morris paces the team with eight home runs.

Julian Gonzales' 20 extra-base hits and 31 RBI are a club-high.

McNeese is one point off the conference lead in batting average (.287) and ranks in the top three for every major offensive category.

For the season, the Pokes carry the lowest ERA (4.12) in the SLC and have fanned a league-high 371 batters. Those totals become 3.86 and 155 in conference play, and rank first and second, respectively.

On The Run:
The Cowboy's 98 steals are the seventh highest total in the nation. McNeese pulled off the only triple steal in college baseball this season on March 25th against HBU.

Reid Bourque (19) and Payton Harden (18) are the top two base stealers in the conference, Julian Gonzales (16) and Brad Burckel (13) have added double-digit steals.

Iron Man:
On Saturday, Shortstop Reid Bourque played in career game no. 223, surpassing Andrew Guillotte (2012-15) and Joe Provenzano (2015-18) for the all-time program lead. Bourque sits at 197 career hits, 12 players have reached the 200 hit mark in their McNeese careers.
