Three different pairs found themselves in the win column in Tucson Saturday with Kaylee Mejia and Sharli O'Neil earning a victory at No. 3 pair versus Santa Clara, while Sierra Land and Rorianna Chartier, and Joey Benson and Emilia Guerra-Acuna won against Arizona State.
In the opener against Santa Clara, Boise State came up short in four matches that were decided in three sets. A frustrating result for the Blue and Orange. The lone victory of the contest came at No. 3 pair where Mejia and O'Neil defeated Elena Radeff and Claire Doud in straight sets 21-19, 21-18.
In the second meeting of the year versus Arizona State the Broncos came up short against the Sun Devils, which evened the season series at 1-1.
Land and Chartier put Boise State on top early with the first win of the contest at No. 2 pair where they won 21-15, 22-20 against Rylie Kael and Anya Pemberton.
The second win came from court five where Benson and Guerra-Acuna won in three sets 21-15, 16-21, 16-14 over Maddy Salazar and Kylie Wickley.
Boise State closed out a 10-day road trip to Arizona on Saturday, returning home with a 3-6 overall record, four of those losses at the hands of nationally-ranked opponents.
The Broncos will return to action next week when they travel to Salem, Ore., where they will face Corban, Bushnell, Portland and Oregon.
