A section of Highway 50 in West Sacramento will be closed overnight Thursday into Friday for construction work in the area. The construction is for the Sycamore Trail Pedestrian Overcrossing project. Highway 50 traffic will be rerouted onto Interstate 80, Interstate 5 and surface streets. Crews will be installing temporary beams over Highway 50 for the bridge deck. Eastbound Highway 50 will be closed overnight between I-80 and Jefferson Boulevard from midnight to 4 a.m. on Friday morning. Detour signs will be posted to help drivers navigate around the area. West Sacramento officials said the Sycamore Trail Overpass project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
