Mount Tom State Park in Litchfield was one of the first to close to new visitors just before 1 p.m. At the same time, DEEP announced Bigelow Hollow State Park, which is in Union, also reached capacity.
Almost two hours later, Kent Falls State Park in Kent closed, officials said. Then, at 3:35 p.m., officials said Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown had reached capacity.
