Caltrans

Caltrans will close an 11-mile segment of Highway 37 near Vallejo this weekend for SMART train track repairs.

The 32-hour closure between Highway 121 at Sears Point and Highway 29 will take place from 3 a.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Motorists should plan for detour delays during these hours. Westbound Highway 37 commuters will have to take northbound Highway 29 to Highway 12 and head southbound on Arnold Drive to reach the other side of Highway 37.

Drivers heading eastbound on Highway 37 will have to take the same detour in reverse to re-enter the highway in Vallejo.

The rail crossing “requires significant repairs, including reconstruction of the subgrade and track due to wear and tear from decades of cars and trucks traveling over the crossing,” according to the North Bay rail agency.
