A ticket checker of a Vande Bharat Express had a close shave when he tried to board a moving train. He was left out as the gates of the Mumbai-bound train had closed.
The incident was captured on camera and shows the ticket checker running alongside the moving train to keep up with it at the Ahmedabad railway station. He is seen knocking on the window of the loco pilot. In a last-ditch effort, he tried to get on the train but fell on the platform.
It was drizzling and as the man fell, people at the platform raised a hue and cry and quickly pulled him to safety. A video of the incident was shared by the Twitter page Mumbai News (@Mumbaikhabar9). The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday.

“Why there is no communication between TC and Driver/Motorman/pilot? No Walkie talkie too, there shud be checks before departure at every station,” commented a Twitter user. “Exactly what I thought. Forget about fancy communication gadgets. A simple cell phone with contact numbers of motorman could have prevented this,” said another. “So unfortunate! Why was he so desperate to get onboard even when the doors closed!?” another netizen asked.
“One month back I was left outside at Surat station, I pressed the button provided over the door, before the train was in motion. Lucky to board before the train started moving,” another Twitter user wrote.
