A wanted history sheeter was injured and arrested in an exchange of fire with a joint team of Khakhreru and SWAT near Kale Baba Ki Mazar, Kulli village, under the limits of Khakhreru police station of Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh, in wee hours of Sunday. The injured criminal, identified as Mohd Zarrar Ahmad (44) , a resident of Kulli village, was admitted at district hospital, Fatehpur for treatment. Police said the injured criminal was a close aide of jailed mafia turned politician Atiq Ahmad gang. He was also carrying Rs 25,000 cash reward on his head. Superintendent of police (Fatehpur) Rajesh Kumar Singh told TOI, "Mohd Zarrar Ahamad, wanted by police in connection with eight criminal cases, was taking shelter near Kulli village forest area."
