After taking two games vs. Conference USA eastern division rivals last weekend, the Lady Raiders (15-4, 7-2 C-USA) are set for another challenge in UAB (12-6, 5-2 C-USA), the current leader in the C-USA west division.

Middle Tennessee defeated its rival in red at home thanks to 21 points off the bench from Kseniya Malashka, 11 3-pointers and holding off a late WKU comeback effort.
Alexis Whittington earned her second double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and hauling 12 rebounds. Dor Saar added 10 points while Courtney Whitson and Jalynn Gregory each finished with nine.
Putting Middle Tennessee on the map
How good has the Blue Raider defense been? The following is where Middle Tennessee ranks nationally in several categories.
● Fourth in the nation in opponent 3-point percentage (24.3 percent).
● Thirty-first in the country in scoring defense, holding opponents to 55.8 points per game.
Offensively, MT is eighth in 3-point field goals per game (9.7) and 15th in total 3-point field goals made (184). Whitson plays 38.7 minutes a game, which leads the country. Saar is tied for 30th in 3-point field goals made (52).
Blue Raider notes
● Middle Tennessee has made 18 consecutive postseason appearances.
● The Lady Raiders are a perfect 8-0 at home this season.
● This season's roster includes five international players from five different countries.
● Kseniya Malashka was named Conference USA Player of the Week for the second time this season on Jan. 31. Malashka averaged 21.5 points, five rebounds and two steals in the two games, while shooting a sizzling 64 percent (14-of-22) from the field, including 4-of-7 (57 percent) from 3-point range.
● The Lady Raiders completed the conference weekly award sweep with Anastasiia Boldyreva earning Conference USA Freshman of the Week. The 6-foot-6 center averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots against Marshall and WKU.
● Jalynn Gregory has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week twice. The Lafayette, Tenn. native is putting up 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
● MT's bench has been strong this season with the Lady Raider bench averaging 24.6 ppg., which is almost three times its average last season.
About UAB
The Blazers have won six of their last eight games but are just 4-5 on the road this season compared to their 8-1 record at home.
Zakiya Weathersby is the team's leading scorer and the conference's leading rebounder, averaging 15.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game –the only player in the conference averaging a double-double this season. Weathersby shoots 56 percent from the field and averages just under two blocks per game.
Emily Klaczek has been hot recently. The freshman guard carries a streak of four consecutive games scoring double figures, including a 26-point performance vs. Western Kentucky Jan. 27.
As a team, the Blazers are the second-highest scoring team in the conference as they put up 70.4 points per game. Defensively, teams are shooting just 36 percent against UAB.
All-time series
● Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series, 15-9. The Lady Raiders took both games last season with a 81-78 overtime win and scoring 95 points two days later.
