The diner will close from Aug. 21-27 and will reopen Aug. 28 at 8 a.m., staff members wrote on the business's Instagram story.

The news comes as the restaurant preps for the opening of its second location on 515 West Ave., Norwalk. The venue is set to open by early fall, and it will be larger than the Stamford location, owner John Moshos announced in March.

Elm Street Diner has been around since 1987. It has gained fame on social media in the past decade for videos of its decadent menu items, which include french toast and waffle towers, stacked sandwiches, stuffed burritos and milkshakes topped with slices of cake, candies and sparklers.

Food Network Magazine recently named its Nutella S'mores French Toast Tower the "most outrageous sweet" in Connecticut, according to the magazine's July/August 2023 issue.
