Longtime Bay Street Emeryville mall tenants P.F. Chang’s and California Pizza Kitchen have permanently closed, as first reported by the E’ville Eye.
P.F. Chang’s, which hosted its last service on Friday, announced the closure on a flyer positioned by the restaurant entrance. A short message read: “Thank you for everything.” According to the E’ville Eye, California Pizza Kitchen likewise closed last week.
SFGATE reached out to both restaurant chains for comment about the recent closures but did not hear back by publication. Both mall locations have already been filled with new restaurant tenants that are expected to open sometime this year.
Real estate developer CenterCal Properties confirmed with SFGATE that Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is replacing the massive space of P.F. Chang’s, while local Mexican restaurant Flores is slated to move into the former home of California Pizza Kitchen.
The recent closures come as Bay Street Emeryville is under a major revamp. Last year, a roster of local and national restaurant chains made their way to the East Bay mall, which included a new Humphry Slocombe location and a forthcoming Shake Shack restaurant. Local Bay Area restaurant Uchiwa Ramen also opened a second outpost at Bay Street Emeryville on Friday.
P.F Chang's and California Pizza Kitchen continue to have restaurant locations throughout the Bay Area.
