ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local artist is leading the way to seek support for a Frederick Douglass statue that will be on permaneant display at the Frederick Douglass Rochester International Airport.
The non-for-profit Rochester Community Television is holding a fundraiser drive to raise $250,000 for Olivia Kim to create the statue.
Kim, who is also an adjunct professor at RIT's College of Art and Design, has sculpted 14 bicentennial Douglass sculptures.
