How To Get BlizzCon 2019 Tickets And A Statue, Reserve A Room And Mingle With Developers - Forbes

Of course you're going to pick the orc statue. Zug zug!

Blizzard Entertainment

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that tickets to its annual BlizzCon fan convention will include a commemorative statue and that a new luxury ticket tier will launch when tickets go on sale May 4. The convention this year will happen in the Anaheim Convention Center Nov. 1-2.

The first two waves of tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. Pacific time; and Wednesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Pacific. Last year, additional purchase waves were offered later; Blizzard offered no information about any future sales in its release this morning.

Tickets this year will come in three tiers:

  • The usual pass for $229, which includes in-game goodies and the statue, which replaces the usual goody bag. Registrants must choose either an orc grunt or a human footman in the style of Blizzard's other high-quality Legends statues, celebrating Warcraft's 25th anniversary. The variant not chosen will be available for sale for a limited time starting May 4;
  • A new Portal Pass for $550, which includes early access to the Darkmoon Faire area on the night before BlizzCon, dedicated entry to the show on Friday and Saturday mornings (meaning shorter lines), preferred parking, separate registration and security lines and a lounge where Blizzard promised some opportunities to mingle with developers;
  • And the charity dinner ticket benefitting CHOC Children's hospital for $750, which includes the opportunity to hang out with developers, artists and designers the evening before the show. The CHOC dinner tickets used to be sold separately; they'll now be part of the regular ticket sales, and will include the Portal Pass perks.

Okay, FINE, here's the filthy Alliance version. Ready for action!

As attendees from previous years know, hotel rooms at BlizzCon are like gold (and frequently carry the same high price tag.) To reserve now at convention rates, hit Blizzard's hotel website.

Ticket sales are being handled for the first time this year by AXS, which will open an online "waiting room" a half-hour before sales actual begin. We strongly recommend setting up an account in advance to avoid delay when sales are about to open. For details, which also includes a nice grid of what comes with which level of ticket, see the AXS BlizzCon site.

Details for the digital pass (which apparently include the digital in-game goodies but not the statue) have yet to be released, but Blizzard says they're coming. The company said it would have more exhibit space than ever before at the Convention Center, and that the new BlizzCon Pregame Festivities would offer fans as-yet unspecified fun things to do outside the center the day before the show.

For esports fans, this year's BlizzCon will include the Hearthstone Global Finals, Overwatch World Cup, StarCraft II World Championship Series global finals, World of Warcraft Arena World Championship Finals, and the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon Invitational global finals.
