Justice Henry and Shirley Frye to be honored with statue unveiling in Greensboro

A sculpture will be dedicated in recognition of Justice Henry E. and Shirley T. Frye, honoring the many contributions the couple has made to North Carolina, the city of Greensboro, and many local non-profit, academic, civic, and professional organizations.Mr. Frye is a graduate of NC A&T University and UNC School of Law, served in the Air Force, then became the first African-American to be elected to the NC General Assembly. He eventually served as chief justice of the NC Supreme Court.Mrs. Frye graduated from A&T, as well as Syracuse University. She was also the vice president and member of the Greater Greensboro United Way. Watch the live stream here at 11 a.m.
